The Cavaliers Need To Show Patience Not Panic With Their Roster!

The “News-Herald” is reporting that although the Cleveland Cavaliers may have an interest in Free Agent guard Antonio Daniels he will not be with the team anytime soon. Cleveland head coach Mike Brown acknowledged that the Team’s General Manager is looking into the possibility of adding Daniels to the roster.
Brown told reporters “”I like our team the way it is. If someone comes along that would make our team better, it would be wrong not to at least explore it. Danny has talked about that name. It’s up to him and his staff. I coached Antonio in San Antonio. He’s a veteran guard with some size that has won a championship. I’m sure time will tell after Danny does his homework whether he’ll be a good fit.”
Daniels who is 34 years old cleared waivers on Tuesday after being bought out of his contract by his former team the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Cavaliers are without a key member of their back-court at the moment as the team has not yest activated Delonte West. Delonte who suffers from a bi-polar disorder is trying to deal with getting himself better after having problems this summer. Anthony Parker was the starter for Cleveland Tuesday night as they lost the regular season opener to Boston 95-89.
New York Vinnie understands the Cavaliers frustration with not having enough depth in their back-court. However adding a journeyman to the mix with Daniels is not what this team needs. New York Vinnie agrees with Mike Brown this team just needs to show some patience and wait for Delonte West to get back.
Putting together a successful sports team is kind of like cooking a delicious meal. You not only need to have the right ingredients you have to have the right amount of each ingredient as well. Your Old Pal New York Vinnie is no Frickin Top-Chef but there are a few things I can put together like my Grand Mom’s pasta sauce. However there have been times when New York Vinnie has put in too much salt and an entire pot of sauce has to be dumped.
New York Vinnie believes that adding Daniels to the mix would be sending a bad message to West; saying that the team is getting impatient waiting for him to sort out his problems and return. Or He could look at it as a prelude to his being traded to another team. A guy who is suffering from depression does not need added pressure in his life. New York Vinnie thinks that West is going through a tough time right now but that Delonte is mentally strong enough to put this rough patch behind him. However the team has to show some patience with him or it could turn into a Frickin disaster.
Unlike Charles Barkley New York Vinnie believes that it is Boston and Cleveland who are the two strongest teams in the NBA Eastern Conference. It is just a matter of time before Delonte West does what he did last seaon; get his life in order and be a key player for the Cavaliers. So New York Vinnie’s advice to Cleveland is put down the Frickin salt shaker and just let the sauce simmer.

New York Vinnie will never start a fight, but he's not afraid to finish one.. Mess with New York Vinnie and he'll rip your nuts off and throw them down the sewer!
