Stern Puts The Kabosh On Zeke Working For Knicks, But Thomas Could Be Back!

The “New York Post” reported Thursday that the New York Knicks avoided a bullet as NBA Commissioner David Stern ruled that FIU head coach Isiah Thomas can not be employed by the Knicks as long as he is coaching at the college. The NBA Commissioner ruled that Thomas’ actions were creating a conflict of interests, and the Knicks would have to end the relationship.

Now one would think that Your Old Pal New York Vinnie would be dancing in the streets after hearing this news! However this could be just a temporary respite for “MY BOYS” as the prevailing attitude right now within the New York City NBA media is it is just a matter of time before Zeke gets back on board in a big way.

When you own the Frickin ball-club you make the Frickin rules. Unfortunately James “EL DOUCHE” Dolan is the Majority Team Owner of the Knicks and he calls all the shots. Now any normal person would see what has happened to New York Vinnie’s “Boys” in the two years since ‘The Reign Of Terror” ended and Thomas was fired. However no one ever said James Dolan was normal.

We as fans have no re-course, what can we Frickin do? You can’t fire the Owner! You can not force him to sell the franchise! Unless the employee has broken some NBA guide-line you can not dictate who an Owner can hire! Face it: As Knicks fans we are in the Frickin Toilet!

Now we can only wish that some how Dolan is made to see the error of bringing back Isiah Thomas, because barring that we are in for a long bumpy road ahead!

Dolan And Thomas Are The “Sid And Nancy” Of The New York Knicks!

There are strange, there are obsessive and there are down-right Frickin Twisted acts that occur billions of time each day on this Planet that we all exist on. However New York Vinnie will outright challenge you to find a more lame-brained, half-witted bizarre act that took place this weekend that topped the Frickin Shenanigans that took place in the “Greatest City To Ever Exist On The Planet, New York City.”

Like “Freddy Krueger” reaching from beyond the Frickin grave, somehow he has returned. Sure the team is saying he is only an Frickin adviser right now, but New York Vinnie is telling you to take this the BANK! Isiah Thomas is back with the New York Knicks and this is only the first step in a long complex process that will put Zeke back in power.

We were finally starting to take off the gas masks; things truly looked like they were heading on the up and up. New York Team President Donnie Walsh had gotten the team back to “Sea-Level” and New York Vinnie’s “Boys” were bringing in legitimate All-Stars! Amar’e Stoudemire led the way, but players like Raymond Felton and the possible signing of Roger Mason Jr. should help.

Then the “New York Post” reported what we had been hearing in hushed tones for months. Something that any fan of the Blue And Orange has been praying would not come to pass, has happened. According to reports we may on the first step of the return of the “Reign Of Terror” as Zeke Thomas is back as an adviser with the New York Knicks.

New York Vinnie wants to know: Where the heck is the “Great And Powerful Stern” when the NBA needs him? Stern gets involved in all sorts of Crappolla that he has no business in; can’t he put the kabosh on this deal? Supposedly it was Stern that led Knicks Team Owner “EL DOUCHE” Dolan to Donnie Walsh in the first place. Could he not have stopped Thomas from getting back in the fold?

New York Vinnie is not a psychiatrist; nor do I play one on the World Wide Net. However it does not take Frickin Sigmund Freud to figure out that New York Team Owner James Dolan and Isiah Thomas have this Frickin Spooky Complex relationship going on. It reminds New York Vinnie of “Frickin Sid and Nancy“! We all know too well what happened to that ‘Gruesome Two-Some!” It is time to put an end to the NBA version of ”Sid And Nancy” before irreparable damage is done!

Deja Vu! How About Deja BOO?? Knicks Bringing Back Thomas?

Cousin Paulie was taking a nap and had a terrible dream that Isiah Thomas was back with the New York Knicks organization. After I was able to calm down, I turned on my computer, and almost fell right out of my chair. IT’S TRUE! ISIAH IS BACK!! I feel like this is a bad remake of a horror movie. Couldn’t they have waited until next week to announce this on Friday the 13th? Holy Mother Mary, this could be enough to send New York Vinnie right back to the hospital! We all know how much He just despises Zeke!

The “New York Post” is reporting The Knicks are about to announce Isiah Thomas will be named a part-time consultant to club but keeps his job at FIU. Why? Cousin Paulie is at a loss of words over this announcement. I want to know what is James Dolan and Donnie Walsh drinking lately, and where can he get a few bottles for himself, knowing that Isiah Thomas will have a say in his team’s player movements and acquisitions.

Just when our beloved Knicks seemed to be on the path to greatness, we get this unexpected announcement. The whole city of New York is going to have to renew their prescription for Xanax as the uncertainty of what Thomas is yet again bringing to the Knicks is upon us.

More news to come, but for now, Cousin Paulie needs to go for a jog and try to cope with this news. Until then, I wish everyone out there a good weekend, and try your best to avoid thinking about ex-Knicks players: Vin Baker, Jared Jeffries, Jerome James, Eddy Curry, Steve Francis, or Stephon Marbury because that will surely give you nightmares.

Say It Isn’t So! Could Isiah Return To The Knicks?

For the first time in many, many years it looked like the New York Knicks were finally starting to turn the corner and once again become a legitimate franchise in the NBA. Team President Donnie Walsh was finally able to dig “MY BOYS” out of the financial hole they were in and the Knicks had money to spend on Free Agents. Earlier this month New York signed a true elite player as former Phoenix Suns big man Amar’e Stoudemire came on board bringing excitement back to the club.

This is not a guy with potential that may blossom or a former star who is now on the downside of his career. Stoudemire is the real deal an All-Star forward that New York Vinnie’s boys can build around.  The team also signed former Charlotte Bobcats guard Raymond Felton and worked out a sign and trade deal with the Golden State Warriors that got the club Anthony Randolph in exchange for David Lee. For the first time in a long while New York Knicks fans will have something to look forward to at the start of the upcoming season.

Your Old Pal New York Vinnie was feeling pretty good about things until the “New York Daily News” reported Friday that a name from the past may once again have an association with the Knicks. The paper is reporting that former Team President and head coach Isiah Thomas may once again be involved in the running of the team. The reports are that New York Owner James “EL DOUCHE” Dolan tried to use Zeke to help the team attain Miami Heat forward LeBron James last week. And that may be only the start of his association with the organization.

Thomas who turned the team into perennial cellar dwellers  during his “Reign Of Terror” is at least being considered a candidate to become the team’s General Manager. Walsh wants to bring in former Warriors G.M. Chris Mullins to take the position put Dolan has put the kabosh on that. According to the reports Walsh has admitted that Zeke is in the mix to get the position.

Head coach Mike D’Antoni is trying to minimize Thomas’ involvement in trying to acquire the reigning NBA MVP. The coach said “We were sitting around and thinking what can we do to try and get it back and Isiah had an in with someone in (James’) entourage. It was a Hail Mary pass and everybody knew it. Everybody was on board, and how it was reported wasn’t accurate. It was trying to be a good thing for the Knicks. We were coming up with 40 different things to try and get it back on track and that was one of them. Everybody was in agreement. But when we read the reports it was unbelievable. It was like aliens are reporting it.”

D’Antoni was in Phoenix the years that Isiah ran the club and he can’t possibly realize the insanity that went on during those years. To even think that Thomas could be coming back to the team in any capacity makes New York Vinnie’s blood run cold!

To think that Thomas could once again be in charge of the daily operations of “MY BOYS” is truly beyond Frickin comprehension. Could Dolan once again be  enough of a Frickin imbecile to bring Zeke back on board? New York Vinnie is not sure that the team or the fans could withstand that again. Especially now that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

If there truly is any justice on this Planet this is just a rumor that will  soon fade away. Those of us who bleed blue and orange have out up with a ton of Crappolla over the last few years. Please do not tell us we have to go back to a nightmare once again.

Zeke And The Clippers? The Perfect Pair!

Now This Would Be Frickin Hilarious! However as much as New York Vinnie would love to see this take place not even Frickin Donald Sterling could be this much of a Frickin Half-Wit! A reporter for “FOXSports.com” senior college basketball writer Jeff Goodman is reporting that the Los Angeles Clippers are considering Isiah Thomas to  become the team’s new head coach and General Manager. Former head coach Mike Dunleavy gave up his bench duties on Thursday to according to him devote more of his attention to his front office duties. Clippers Team President Andy Roesser said that Dunleavy was replaced on the bench by assistant coach Kim Hughes because the team needed a “fresh voice.”

The Los Angeles Clippers and Zeke would be enough to possibly to  move the Clippers to Seattle! As bad as that team has been historically they would be shaken to the club’s very Frickin foundation were Thomas to be in charge. This would take Donald Sterling from being one of the worst Team Owners in the history of the NBA to Numero Uno! Even Frickin Sterling could not seriously entertain this as much of a Frickin Imbecile as he is!

Thomas who drove “MY BOYS”  the New York Knicks back to the stone age is currently the head coach of Florida International University in Miami. The team is 7-18 in its first season under Zeke’s guidance.

Magic/Isiah Feud Proves Some Guys Never Grow Up!

Your Old Pal New York Vinnie wrote this a few weeks ago; not everybody grows up some people just grow old. New York Vinnie had to bring that phrase out again as a feud between two of the biggest names in the history of the NBA has both parties looking like a couple of Frickin overgrown babies. “Sports Illustrated” NBA beat writer Ian Thomsen is reporting that some airing of some ancient dirty laundry has two former close friends fighting a war of words.  And as far as New York Vinnie is concerned they both come off as nothing but a pair of childish PUDS.

The controversy erupted due to a soon to be published book entitled “When The Game Was Ours” a collaboration between Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and NBA writer Jackie MacMullen. Anybody that followed the NBA back in what New York Vinnie refers to as the “Glory Days” of the league realize that in many ways Bird and Johnson saved the NBA.

The NBA Finals was shown on a tape delayed basis at 11:30pm on CBS back in the early eighties because the sport was getting no ratings. However after the rivalry between Bird’s Celtics and Magic’s Lakers the NBA took off big time. They of course were later joined by a young man named Michael Jordan and the NBA became “Must See TV.”

Excerpts from the book have been released to the press and the issue that is generating all the heat is Magic calling out his old friend Isiah Thomas in his account of the tail end of Johnson’s career. Johnson accuses Thomas of spreading rumors after the Lakers All-Star contracted HIV in the early nineties that Magic was possibly gay or bi-sexual. Johnson also reveals in the book that he was one of the forces that kept Isiah off of the first “Dream Team” which was the 1992 Team USA that won the Olympic Gold Medal in Barcelona that year. Prior to the excerpts being released Jordan was always blamed with keeping Thomas off the team.

Thomas of course is denying that he ever spread any rumors about Magic’s sexual habits. He also Thomsen that he was shocked when he read the excerpts. Isiah said “I’m really hurt, and I really feel taken advantage of for all these years. I’m totally blindsided by this. Every time that I’ve seen Magic, he has been friendly with me. Whenever he came to a Knick game, he was standing in the tunnel with me. He and (Knicks assistant coach) Herb (Williams) and I, we would go out to dinner in New York. I didn’t know he felt this way.”

The former New York Knicks Team President and head coach believes that his former friend has been misinformed by those around him. Zeke told the magazine “I think Magic has been misled on a lot of things, and unfortunately this has been another one of them. I am hurt and disappointed that he has chosen to believe others as opposed to his closest friends. And I think you can go back and look in that era and see who his closest friends were, and who his closest friends are now. At that time, I don’t consider Lon Rosen to be one of his closest friends; he was one of his business advisers making money off him.”

Rosen is Johnson’s agent and according to the book had conversations with Thomas about Johnson’s sexuality. Thomas denies ever talking with Rosen about the subject; the agent says he and Johnson are stating that the information in the book is fact.

New York Vinnie is wondering why now after all these years is Johnson finally coming out with these accusations. Does he believe that it will enhance his image? Or is he that bent on destroying any credibility Isiah could have left by revealing this now? It truly does not make a whole lot of sense.

Magic Johnson was never a player that New York Vinnie was a fan of; however I have always held him in the utmost respect. But this incident takes away some of his shine in New York Vinnie’s eyes; I know that I will never have that same level of respect for him after this. This was ancient dirty laundry that should have stayed buried. No matter how much money he makes off this it will never restore his reputation.

“Starbury” Tears Knicks A New One!

Regulars here at the house that “New York Vinnie Built” Le Basketbawl realize how much I love My Boys the New York Knicks. Outside of New York Vinnie’s Doll and my family the Knicks are one of the most important things in my life. When the Knicks are playing well New York Vinnie is a very happy man; unfortunately that has not happened too often over the last few years.

Knicks Team Owner James Dolan or as New York Vinnie refers to him as “El Douche” decided to put his franchise’s future in hands of Isiah Thomas. After four years of having Zeke at the helm it may be until 2020 for this team to be a realistic competitor for an NBA Title. Thomas made some of the worst moves not only in the team’s history but possibly in the entire history of the NBA. He brought in players with bad attitudes; some had talent but their liabilities far out weighed any Frickin help they brought to the team.

Some of these Frickin PUDS will most likely be stuck with the Knicks for a while. Others like Quentin Richardson and Zach Randolph thankfully are some other Frickin team’s headaches now. And according to the “New York Post” the guy who could be the “Poster Boy” for the Zeke Thomas era in the “Big Apple” will sit this upcoming season out and attempt a come back next season. Whether he can make it back next year remains to be seen; however if this was his final chapter in his NBA career he went out with some major Frickin fireworks.

Stephon Marbury who finished the season this spring with the Boston Celtics told the paper that he was most likely going to sit the upcoming season out and then attempt a comeback in the 2010-2011 season. “Starbury” reportedly was given just one offer this summer a one year contract by Boston for $1.3 million and turned it down. He told the paper that he was not retiring but taking the year off to work on his business and make his come back next fall.

New York Vinnie is not a fan of “Starbury” and I am very happy he is no longer on the New York roster. Marbury represents all that is bad in today’s NBA in New York Vinnie’s opinion. He is negative, surly, selfish and plays for the name on the back of the jersey not the one in the front.

That being said New York Vinnie thought that the comments that the former Knicks guard made about the current regime at MSG actually made some sense. The comments echoed a lot of things that New York Vinnie has been writing over the last couple of months. You know just because a guy is a Frickin PUD does not mean he can’t actually make any Frickin sense, right? Even a broken clock is correct two times a day.

When Stephon was asked about his thoughts on this edition of his former club he was not what you would call complimentary. Marbury said “I’m just talking as a fan and New Yorker who grew up loving the Knicks; why would I give you my money to watch them? This is atrocious. Guys coming down court, just raising up 3-pointers from anywhere. The coaching is horrible. What kind of coaching is this? If they shoot like that in the game, imagine how they shoot in practice. New Yorkers deserve better decisions form the front office and New York City has to deal with this mess.”

Now there is a lot of bad blood between Marbury and Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni and that comes into play in these comments. Marbury came into camp last year in incredible shape and was playing fantastic in the preseason. But the Knicks offered a buyout and “Starbury” refused to take it saying you want to cut me pay me what you owe me. The Knicks let him rot at home for most of the year until they worked out an agreement just before the trade deadline. He then signed as a Free Agent with the Celtics but was never really a factor.

However is what Marbury is saying in this interview true? Unfortunately a lot of it is Frickin spot on. Marbury was asked his thoughts about LeBron James signing next summer with the Knicks. He replied “LeBron isn’t coming to a rebuilding team. Why would he come to a rebuilding team? It makes no sense. Is this franchise built to win a championship or to make money?”

Again this is what New York Vinnie has been telling you for months; LeBron James has a team that is poised to win in Cleveland. Why would he leave that to come play for a Frickin team that is as Marbury says a mess? Stephon; New York Vinnie does not like you anymore today than last week. However My Man the statements you make are pretty on base.
