It is time once again for one of our most popular features here at Le Basketbawl “New York Vinnie’s Words Of Wisdom.” This is when New York Vinnie gives you the benefit of the lessons I have learned as Life has knocked the spit out of me quite a few times. Hopefully New York Vinnie is performing a Public Service so that you can avoid some of the pitfalls that I was unlucky enough to encounter during my time on this Planet.

This installment of  ”New York Vinnie’s Words Of Wisdom” deals with maturity. “Not Everybody Grows Up; Some People Just Grow Old.” You see there is no Frickin Magic Number that means you are an adult. Some people mature at 12 and others are in their Frickin fifties and they are still Frickin children. “Growing Up” means taking responsibility for your life and your actions and unfortunately for some people that moment just never takes place.

One person who has certainly never shown any indication of growing up is showing that he still has not caught on to what life is about. The “New York Post” reported Friday that veteran NBA Free Agent Stephon Marbury has had one offer since July 1. That was from the Boston Celtics for a reported $1.3 million and he reportedly turned it down thinking he can do better for himself. “Starbury” also according to reports has let it be known he will only consider playing for a team that is a legitimate Playoff contender. 

That’s an awful lot of demands from a guy that does not have a gig or is close to finding one according to reports. Unfortunately “Starbury” has yet to realize that most of the NBA considers him toxic and would have nothing to do with him no matter what the circumstances are. He is a player who has a reputation of being a Frickin Cancer in the clubhouse; and he did nothing to improve his market value with his sorry performance with the Celtics during the latter stages of last season.

Yo Stephon, if you truly want to play again in the NBA here is what you need to do My Man. You need to call Celtics Director Of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge and beg for that position. If you Frickin have to plead temporary insanity and hope he is the forgiving sort. If not enjoy your retirement and good luck with the rest of your life. New York Vinnie hopes you invested wisely My Man because you will never again come close to making what you did in the NBA.
