Reports Out Of Philadelphia State Sixers Offer Iverson One Year Deal!

The “Associated Press” is reporting that the Philadelphia 76ers have offered veteran Free Agent guard Allen Iverson a contract for the rest of the NBA season. The report quotes an unidentified source whom is said to have knowledge of the deal.
Iverson and his agent Leon Rose met in Dallas with Sixers head coach Eddie Jordan and Team President Ed Stefanski for two hours on Monday to see if the two sides could agree on a contract deal. The 76ers will be without their starting point guard Louis Williams for what is being said to be an eight week period as he had surgery last Thursday morning to repair a broken jaw. Iverson is looking for a starting gig in the NBA and is interested in possibly going back to the team and the city he started his NBA career with.
Last month the Memphis Grizzlies and veteran guard Iverson agreed to dissolve their union. Iverson who has made the NBA All-Star team ten times signed a one year agreement with Memphis just before Training Camp for a reported $3.5 million. He had missed all of the preseason and the first three games of the regular season after suffering a partial tear of his left hamstring. Iverson was activated for the last three games and found himself coming into games off the bench something that he was quite unhappy and quite vocal about. The veteran told media members that he considers himself a starter and coming off the bench is beneath him.
