Poor Pau Injures Paw! Has Surgery On Left Index Finger!
The “Associated Press” has reported that Los Angeles Lakers big man Pau Gasol is recovering after having surgery on his left index finger Monday. The veteran who helped the Lakers win the NBA Title in June broke his finger while he was practicing with the National Team from Spain. Gasol is expected to be sidelined for three weeks and although this will keep him out of some International Tournament action it should be healed long before NBA Training Camp starts.
Gasol now is wearing a splint on the injured finger. Spain will compete in the European Championships which starts September 7, in Poland. Gasol hopes and expects to be able to lace them up when his team takes the court. The big man told reporters “I want to be with my teammates and fight for the championship. I don’t see why I would have to drop out. I have explained the situation to the Lakers, and they have the results. They aren’t pleased I am injured but I don’t think they’ll put obstacles in my way.”

Pau sitting out the summer games with spanish national team is great for the lakers, hell be ready and rested come NBA season and finger injuries are easily healable and wont affect his shot for next year.
