News Out Of Gotham! Knicks And Lee Could Reach One Year Deal!

Finally! After a long and discouraging first month of free agency for New York Vinnie’s Boys the New York Knicks there could possibly be some encouraging news on the horizon. CBS Sports.comis reporting that Mark Bartelstein the agent for Knicks big man David Lee says there is a possibility of his client reaching a one year deal to keep him in a New York uniform. New York Vinnie’s response is its about Frickin time!
Hopes looked slim late last month after Lee had an interview with ESPN.com saying that he and the team were far apart in negotiations. Lee told reporters at the time “At the start of this process I was really excited to be in New York, I thought it wouldn’t be too difficult to work something out, but now we’re forced to start looking at different options with sign-and trades and stuff like that. I’m sure it’s going to be something we’re not expecting, it’s going to be something that’s very complicated. But my gut would be that it’s going to be difficult at this point to get a long-term deal done with New York, that’s my gut. But my gut changes about every three hours, so I really have no idea.”
This past year was Lee’s break-out season as he averaged a double-double with 16 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. In order for the Knicks to be at all competitive in the next couple of seasons Number 42 has to be in the mix. Without him even with salary cap relief next summer it will a lot harder rebuilding process!
