Memphis Grizzlies: Penny Wise But Frickin Foolish!

There are a lot of strange Cats who are NBA General Managers but Memphis Grizzlies G.M. Chris Wallace may right up near the top of the heap in the strangeness category. Sometimes you are convinced that Wallace is a clueless PUD as many thought back in 2007 when he gave away Pau Gasol to the Los Angeles Lakers for Kwame Brown and a handful of Frickin Magic Beans.
There are other times you say to yourself however that Wallace may actually have a grip on reality after all! The Grizzlies started showing that they were on the way of becoming a honest to goodness NBA team last season with the addition of O.J. Mayo and Marc Gasol to the roster. It looked like Wallace may have had a method to his madness!
Well in your old pal New York Vinnie’s eyes Wallace is back in Frickin clueless mode again last season and that mindset might come back to haunt the Grizzlies this time. “The Associated Press” has reported that the Milwaukee Bucks have signed former Memphis forward Hakim Warrick to a one year deal. Terms of the contract were not revealed. The Bucks made the offer after Memphis yanked a qualifying offer off the table that they had originally presented to Warrick.
Memphis is stating that the reason they pulled the qualifying offer was given how bad the economy is they could just not afford it. Okay NBA teams here is a little advice from New York Vinnie. When hardworking Americans are reduced to living in tent villages through out our country are living in “Tent Cities” you are going to get any sympathy trying to cry poor mouth. Even if that IS the reason make up something else. Fans do not want to hear with what they are paying for tickets and what you are paying these players any complaints about economic hardship on your fault!
But even more importantly Warrick was the second most consistent player on the Grizzlies after Rudy Gay. No he will never be an All-Star but he is a good to very good player. He has averaged 10.2 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in his four year career more than adequate numbers.
Look sometimes you have to bite the bullet and make tough decisions. However there were players that were a lot less valuable to the Memphis Grizzlies then Hakim Warrick still on their roster.

New York Vinnie will never start a fight, but he's not afraid to finish one.. Mess with New York Vinnie and he'll rip your nuts off and throw them down the sewer!
