Your Old Pal New York Vinnie has been called a lot of names in his life but a “Techno-Geek” is certainly not one of them. So I have to tell you it is pretty Frickin strange using “PC World” as a source for a story. However here at the “House That New York Vinnie Built” Le Basketbawl we span the globe to get you the latest stories and we utilize all the best sources that are out there.

For this story we are literally spanning the globe as we take you to China where the “Black Mamba” Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Kobe Bryant was one oof a group of speakers who addressed a bunch of Chinese technology experts. However the really big news came after the conference when Kobe was approached by a bunch of Chinese journalists. Bryant was asked if he would consider leaving the NBA to play over in China. The Lakers star responded “I love playing, it’s something I’m open to.”

Kobe Bryant leaving the NBA to play in China would certainly not make “The Great And Powerful“  NBA Commissioner David Stern very happy. He thought it was cool last year when Brandon Jennings instead of playing college ball for a year chose to play in Italy. New York Vinnie does not think that Stern would react quite the same way if an elite player like  Kobe left the league to play across the planet.

So now the question becomes was Kobe just being polite; or would he truly consider playing maybe the last few years of his career across the planet? The fans love him in Beijing where he was treated like royalty last year in the 2008  Olympics. Kobe has won four NBA Titles and the NBA MVP award; could he look at China as a new mountain to climb and conquer?

This could turn out to be nothing or the very first chapter in a very interesting new story for Kobe, the NBA and basketball around the planet. New York Vinnie has learned one thing in life; never rule anything out!
