Hooray For ‘Dre! Blazers Sign Andre Miller For Three Year Deal!

One thing that I have noticed since I took over “The House That New York Vinnie Built” Le Basketbawl. I seem to spend a lot more time about the PUDS in the NBA than about the Good Guys. So it truly makes New York Vinnie feel pretty good when he can write about one of the true class guys in the league Andre Miller! The Associated Press has reported that the veteran Miller the former Philadelphia point guard has signed a three year contract with the Portland Trail Blazers said to be worth $21 million.
The veteran has played 10 years in the NBA and has been steady as a Frickin rock! Miller is not a flashy player but he is solid if you catch my drift. Miller has career averages of 14.6 points, 7.4 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game pretty solid numbers in New York Vinnie’s eyes. He also is a pure point guard not one of these hybrid type guys that the NBA is filled with in this era. Miller’s first thought is to distribute the rock which is the most important quality in a true point.
Reports are that the veteran hooked up with Portland coach Nate McMillan and General Manager Kevin Pritchard earlier in the week in a restaurant in Vegas. The Blazers have a good young point guard in Steve Blake but Miller’s experience and talent will come up big with this team. Pritchard told reporters “Andre was terrific. He knew our team. He knew how he could help our team. He seemed like a coach!”
There has been information from the Blazers exactly what the veteran’s role will be with the Blazers. Will the 33 year old guard take over from Blake as the starter or will he come off the bench. The good thing with a Miller is he is not going to cause waves either way. The only thing this man wants is a ring and Portland could very well be the place where he gets one.
B-Roy has stepped up his game big time in the last two seasons as has LaMarcus Aldridge and Blake. The two rookie from last season Fernandez and Batum showed that they can be players in this league. And of course the big
“X Factor” is center Greg Oden. If the young man can stay healthy he could be a game changer. That has not been the case his first two seasons.
So Andre good luck to you and Your Boys in Portland. You have always been a class act and it is a cool thing when one of the good guys gets rewarded!

New York Vinnie will never start a fight, but he's not afraid to finish one.. Mess with New York Vinnie and he'll rip your nuts off and throw them down the sewer!

Glad to see Miller get the money he deserves. It’s a shame the Knicks didn’t have the funds to close the deal.
