Le Basketbawl

Okay I realize that this is going to come as a shock to you however New York Vinnie is not a professional writer! Yes I realize you thought I was taught by the late great Ring Lardner and Sam Smith of the Chicago Tribune or Dick Young from the New York Daily News but I gotta admit it just ain’t true.  Through a strange set of circumstances though I now find myself running an Internet Sports Website. America is truly a hell of a country!

New York Vinnie is not a BLOGGER!  I happen to be a huge Sports Fan who was fortunate enough to have gotten involved in a situation where I work for three men. Two of the three are longtime respected members of the media between them they have over 30 years covering Pro Sports. They have covered NBA Finals, World Series games and one of the two covered his first Super Bowl earlier this year. These guys  have resumes longer than New York Vinnie’s frickin arm!

The way that New York Vinnie was fortunate to get involved with them was through another Sports Internet Website that will remain nameless. However the people on the site will recognize who they are if they decide to read this. This was New York Vinnie’s first experience with BLOGGERS and for the most part it was not a very pleasant experience! Don’t get me wrong there were some quality people that New York Vinnie met there but unfortunately they were the minority.

One of the gentlemen I worked for made the statement that the greatest thing about the Internet is everybody has a voice. The worst thing he said about the Internet is everybody has a voice. We live in an age where all you need is a computer and you can set yourself up as an expert on anything. As the same gentleman said to me “Why do you think that we who have done sports reporting for an extended period of time have no respect for them? Most of them have never been near a professional locker room not to mention they have never interviewed somebody in Sports. Yet they behave as if they have inside information.”  That statement comes from a man who has interviewed  every big named athlete over the past decade.

What New York Vinnie saw over there were a bunch of over grown children who most likely do not have jobs or if they do they must perform very badly at them for they are always on the website. New York Vinnie is not about to reveal on the Blogosphere how he has made a living.  However at 42 years of age I have gotten to the point of being comfortable financially and I am at a stage of life that I now have the flexibility to pursue this venture. Maybe all the rest of these folks are as blessed as New York Vinnie is? You be the judge!

I will no longer be spending any time over at that website it is not worth my time or my trouble. Any of the quality people who New York Vinnie met at that site are now welcome to join him for some hard hitting NBA Talk on Le Basketbawl. New York Vinnie will still post his articles on that site but he will no longer engage in childish games with a bunch of sad and desperate people!
