New York Vinnie has the feeling there are going to be a lot of heart-broken young ladies in Los Angeles who follow the Lakers next month. Why you ask?  Well in the city where the motto has always been “It is better to look good than to feel good“ Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson asked reserve guard Sasha Vujacic to make the ultimate sacrifice for his club; he cut off his rock star hair.

The “Los Angeles Daily News” said that Jackson told reporters that he asked his shooting guard to take one for the team and get his locks trimmed. The Lakers head coach said “Last year, Sasha got injured on the first day of training camp and it literally limited him for three weeks. So he got off to a bad start and never recovered. So we’ve asked him to cut his hair and he did. He’s going to have a new look. I think it’s a total fresh start. I think Sasha played with his hair more than he played on the court last season.”

Vujacic’s numbers did drop off last year from his career high numbers the season before. Vujacic averaged 8.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game during the 2007-2008 season; where last season he averaged just 5.8 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists per contest. New York Vinnie is wondering if anybody was smart enough to collect the hair and turn each lock into a souvenir for some babe with a crush on Sasha. And if they did not think ahead like that they are a bunch of dopes!
