It’s Sad When NBA Basketball is Relegated to PickUp Games — Ray Ray Dancing

When ESPN is promoting a Lebron vs Durant pickup game  you know we have reached an all time low with regards to NBA basketball coverage. Is is shocking that Durant dropped 59 points playing pickup and lost? Yawn, pickup ball is as bad as the All-Star game. All they do is showboat to the crowds. This is a sad attempt by the players to attempt to stay relevant while the strike lingers on into its 3rd month. Let me know when “real” basketball starts. At least I got something to watch during the lockout. Ron Artest has joined the cast of Dancing with the Stars. He has a new professional partner Peta Murgatroyd. I know nothing about her other then that fact she is smoking! With a man as big and goofy as Ron Ron I wonder how well he will do. Artest claim he is “adept” enough to play tight end in the NFL. With a skill set like that he should have no problems winning the “Mirror Ball” for his new partner Peta. I never thought I would be so desperate as to cover reality TV but we all sink to new lows without the NBA. I will be covering Ron Ron’s reality TV foray in its entirety. Feel free to stop back at LB after each Artest...

The Epic Fail Of Hurricane Irene And The Cesspool Of Nothingness

I was going to put up a piece about the NBA stadiums that were at risk for sustaining Hurricane Irene damage. However, once Irene hit the NC coast I realized this was a media made firestorm. I live outside of Philly and to be frank— I have had worse thunderstorms! I’m more annoyed that I carried in all my patio furniture. If I see one more image of Chris Christie on TV I might just vomit. Something about that jiggly neck without a tie just unnerves me. Feel pity for the great Gov…he lead by example cutting his Jersey shore vacation short! It would have been interesting if this storm was half of what it claimed to be. Imagine if Michael Jordan’s Time Warner Cable Arena lost it’s roof? Or if the vaunted Madison Square Garden was flooded out by the Atlantic Ocean. The Wells Fargo Center (the name of the Sixers Stadium— at least for this week) sits close to the Delaware. That could have taken on fresh water as well. However, none of these events occurs as this “natural disaster” lacked any true muster. The NBA is still sitting in that cesspool of nothingness. David Stern claims there will be progress on the lockout by Labor Day. Sure, David, if that happens I’ll swim naked across the Delaware River. The Bottom line is this. I, as an NBA blogger, have nothing to write about without the NBA. The NBA is going to lose a ton of money if there is no season. Whether David acknowledges this or not he is truly worried that this labor dispute may drag on indefinitely. The longer it drags...

NBA Gossip and Rick Adelman

With the strike still in full swing I have shifted my interest to sports that are actually playing. I’m a big fantasy football head and I also run a website about such. Feel free to check out Fantasy Sports Gab if you share the same love. Kobe got in the news a while back about throwing a hissy fit at church. Other then that the only thing going on is the infamous Kim Kardashian / Kris Humphries wedding. Personally, I don’t feel like contributing anymore to the fame whore. Man, how the mighty have fallen. Rick Adelman is interviewing the Wolves. Minnesota is bad and I don’t see them getting better any time soon. Adelman would be good for Rubio as he may help him acclimate to the NBA game more readily. Though if I were Rick I would stay retired and wait for a contender to come calling. Zach Randolph also got in the news by having “his boys” beat their drug dealer with a pool cue. Glad to see the NBAers are staying out of trouble...

Kendrick Perkins Knows How To Booze It Up!

With the NBA in full lockout mode, Kendrick Perkins of the OKC Thunder decided to get sloppy.. sloppy drunk! He was arrested in Beaumont, Texas for public intoxication. Can you imagine a liquored up 6’10 280 lbs athlete screaming at you?! He was locked up at 4:17 am on Sunday morning. He was released on a mere $300 bail for public drinking and disorderly conduct. Evidently, he got a little fired up at a nightclub and tried to fight anyone who came near him. I wonder if there was a bit more then alcohol in his system?! At least he had the sense to not get behind the wheel. I don’t blame Perk for hitting the bottle.. There isn’t anything else going on thanks to yet another billionaire vs millionaire...
