The Jackasses We Call Timberwolves

Yahoo Sports is reporting that Kurt Rambis is about to get canned. I love that franchise up in Minnesota. There are D-League franchises that are run better. It is true that Kurt Rambis has gone 32-132. I’m not saying that Rambis is the next coming of Phil Jackson. However, you need more then Kevin Love to be a competitive NBA franchise. Kevin McHale was chased out of town and amazingly enough he has found his way with TV analyst gigs. He parlayed his pontification into a head coaching position in Houston. Earth to Minnesota. Get a...

Cory Booker is My Basketball Idol

Cory Booker is one heck of an outspoken Mayor. He is mostly known for his crime fighting and education reforming ways in the gritty town of Newark, NJ. I’m a West Coast Baller who is trapped on the East Coast. More specifically in the armpit of America – New Jersey. According to NESN Cory Booker is trying to recruit a new NBA franchise to Newark. Here is the direct quote: The Sacramento Kings have been trying to move to Anaheim, Calif., and only recently promised to stay put through next season, and the New Orleans Hornets are consistent subjects of relocation rumors. The article also lists the Memphis Grizzlies, Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves and Charlott Bobcats as candidates for a move Cory Booker speaks the truth. I have been to the Prudential Center, It is a damn nice arena. Personally, I’m a fan of the Cigar Bar. You can buy a nice stogey and step out onto the terrace and truly enjoy the moment. Having just one professional sports team in that arena is an underutilization. He does speak the truth. The NY media can easily handle threeNBA franchises. NY sports fans are as die-hard as they come. Though I personally give the nod to Philly as the sickest fans in America. Lets not forget Magic’s boy Peter Vecsey writes daily for the NY Post. He is an old timer and I’m sure he would concur. A third team would give him more to write about. Personally, I like the idea because it would continue to give me an option to watch NBA basketball without having to truck into the...

Magic Is One Whiny Lil’ Bitch

Other then the impending lockout and NBA draft their ain’t too much going on. Granted, we have radio personalities in Cleveland naming their kids after Dirk Diggler but I digress. Onto the bitch we call Earvin “Magic” Johnson. Magic is feuding with old school NBA writer Peter Vecsey. I myself am a touch “throwback” as I subscribe to daily delivery of the NY Post. I like to hold the fine print in my hands. I particularly like reading the smut filled Post. I read Peter Vecsey daily and though he does get a lil’ wild from time to time he is a good writer. He makes valid points and his Magic Johnson observation is spot f’in on. Here is Vecsey’s direct quote courtesy of balljunkie: A former player finds it unreal for Magic Johnson to go an entire Finals as an ABC analyst without offering the slightest insight whatsoever. “I assume he remembers something about the game” Magic Johnson SUCKS as a analyst for the NBA. Maybe he should take lessons from my ball licking idol Charles Barkley! So Magic stop acting like a lil’ bitch and learn to accept critism. Embrace it, you know what they say… bad news is better then no news at...

Carlisle Attempts to Save Spoelstra – While the Jackass Lebron Continues!

I have seem some strange things in the NBA this year but this takes the cake (well, except for Ron Artest trying stand up comedy). Rick Carlisle is the consummate professional. He reminds me of a less cranky, more adept, Larry Brown. He went out of his way to save Erik Spoelstra. The quote courtesy of ESPN: “Listen, I would like to say one thing about Miami if I could,” Carlisle said. “I thought Erik Spoelstra had the toughest jobs in basketball with that team because of the way the team came together and because of the unbelievably high expectations.” I give Carlisle a ton of cred for making this statement. Rick is a humble and true coach. He learned the hard way what losing can do to a psyche. Erik Spoeltra may be a smart man. In fact, he may be a good coach (though he didn’t show it in the Finals). The land is drawn in the sand. He is not the right man to coach the Heat. Lebron, Bosh, and Wade acknowledge this season is a failure. They do not have a championship. The big 3 aren’t going anywhere so the Coach must. It is time for the Pat Riley come from the penthouse calls to regain their furor. A Hall a Fame Coach is needed to Coach a 3 All Star Roster. Erik Spoelestra is collateral damage… Blah, blah, blah. Winners win and loser lose.Lebron James, for all his hype, is a loser.Though I am a dick licker of Charles Barkley I must admit he is a loser as well. Neither player brought home the coveted...

Lebron’s Got Some McNabb in Him

Today is a joyous day. Today is the day the Cocky Cuban  got his title. The day Dirk Nowitzski and Jason Terry got redemption. The day the Hollywood Heat had to eat crow. Even when Nowitzski’s shot wasn’t falling his team was there for him. Terry was stellar dropping 27 points with 11 for 16 shooting. Terry was the focus, the energy, and the desire this team needed to get over the top. Dirk didn’t do it alone but there is no doubt he was the leader. Dirk also had a true coach in Rick Carlisle. As ESPN flaunted Rick was a coach for the now. I dislike Lebron but I respect his game. I’m in the Chuck Barkley camp. I have despised this fraudulent hyena’s antics since the decision. His coughing antics just solidified my hatred (mocking Dirk). What goes around comes around. The “Cavs for Mavs” T-Shirts proved this… Lebron showed something to me in the Finals. He got some McNabb in him. I know this because I’m Philly born and raised. I have Eagles season tickets and I watched McNabb play for 11 years. McNabb was good enough to get us there….but not good enough to get us over the top! The vomiting in the Superbowl clinched it for me. Lebron vomited all over  these Finals. He disappeared in 3 – count them – 3 fourth quarters! This is unacceptable from this self proclaimed savior of South Beach. Averaging 17 points in the Finals just don’t get it done. DWade showed up (averaging 28 pts in the Finals) and gave it everything he had. DWade is an vet and he understand...
