Team USA took a commanding 29-18 first quarter lead over Angola, and never looked back Tuesday as they won their contest Tuesday defeating the National team from Angola 97-76. Dwyane Wade came off the bench Tuesday and led his squad with 19 points. The win gives the Americans their second straight victory in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Wade was one of four members of his team to score in double figures, as USA shot 55.9% (38-68) from the floor for the game.

After jumping out to a 29-18 lead In the first quarter, the rout was on. The margin of victory would have been much larger, but Angola finally came alive in the fourth quarter. Angola outscored Team USA 23-16 in the final period, but it was far too little, far too late.

Wade led the Americans with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal in the victory. Center Dwight Howard scored 14 points, 3 rebounds, 2 blocks, 1 assist. LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony each scored 12 points, LBJ adding 5 assists, 3 steals, 2 rebounds, 1 block. Anthony also contributed 6 rebounds, 1 block. Guard Carlos Morais led all scorers as he put in 24 points, for Angola. Team USA faces Greece in their next game.
