OKC Will Charge More Money Than Seattle For Tix
So when you think about cities in the USA that have high cost of living indexes, usually cities such as New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago come to mind. But Oklahoma City? The “Associated Press” reported Thursday that the NBA franchise that will start playing in Oklahoma City in the upcoming season announced their ticket pricing structure. On average the tickets for the “The Team Formerly Known As The Seattle SuperSonics” will be charging 36% more than the team did in Seattle last season.
The team will have 3400 seats available at ten dollars each. The Association requires all their teams to have at least 500 tickets per game available at the ten dollar price. A spokesman for the team said that the ticket price will average out to $47.51. The Sonics at one time were the second highest ticket in the Association, during the years when Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp played for the organization. The price however dropped dramatically earlier in the decade, resulting in Seattle being one of the least expensive NBA venues. The ticket price is still below the Association average.
