Could Mo Williams Be Cavaliers Point Guard Of The Future?
Word out of Milwaukee is that the new regime of General Manager John Hammond, and new head coach Scott Skiles, now want to keep All-Star Michael Redd on the roster. This is a change in direction of the talk in June, that the new Bucks brain-trust wanted to trade the veteran shooting guard. However according to reports emanating out of Cleveland Milwaukee may be willing to trade another member of their back-court.
Bob Finnan of The “News-Herald” reported Monday that the Cavaliers may have an interest in trading for Bucks point guard Mo Williams. Finnan wrote that NBA sources have told him that there is talk of a possible three way deal between Cleveland, Milwaukee, and “The Team Formerly Known As The Seattle SuperSonics” (Maybe until they get a new name they could have a symbol like Prince used to have!) The reports say that West could be involved in the deal. Another scenario has Joe Smith and Damon Jones going to Milwaukee in exchange for the guard who just completed his fifth season in the Association. Williams was a second round pick by the Utah Jazz in the 2003 NBA Draft. He has been with the Bucks since the 2004-2005 campaign. He averaged 17.2 points, 6.3 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 66 games (all starts) this past season.
