Round of applause to the Atlanta Hawks!

With a bank account $50,000 lighter and a "W" taken away, the Atlanta Hawks continue to prove to the world that they are the laughing stock of the NBA. During a December 19th match-up with the Miami Heat, the Hawks scoring table staff incorrectly fouled out Shaquille O'Neal during overtime in what eventually resulted in a Hawks win.

The Heat immediately asked the league to review the situation hoping for a replay, which has not been done in the NBA since 1982. Almost a month later and we have ourselves that replay! Keep in mind that the home team always provides the staffing of the scoring table as well as many other positions during a home game. The Hawks have had other issues in the past with their staff including a situation in 2006 where they failed to credit TJ Ford for a game tying bucket that also eventually resulted in an Atlanta win.

The two teams meet on March 8th in Atlanta and will replay the last 51.9 seconds of the game to decide who gets the win! Should be interesting to see if Josh Smith will be allowed to play, as he had fouled out earlier in the game; my guess is no.

We'll leave this with a little Tyronn Lue quote:

"It's always something with the Hawks," Atlanta guard Tyronn Lue said. "It's a bad business, man, but we'll get through it."
