Isiah Thomas and the Knicks: BFF

So, can anyone tell me why the Knicks are keeping Isiah Thomas?
I really can’t think of any good reasons. First, and foremost, he and Madison Square Garden were sued for sexual harassment charges and retaliation by Anucha Brown Sanders, a former executive for the Knicks. They were handed the largest sexual harassment judgements in history. He was also accused of making racist remarks to Anucha Brown Sanders, and in the past he was quoted saying, “if Larry Bird was a black guy, he would be just another good guy.” Again, he was alleged to be the instigator in the brawl between the Knicks and the Denver Nuggets, ordering players to make hard fouls in the paint in December 2006. Then a few months down the road he was fined for insulting officials on the accusation that Stephon Marbury doesn’t get the same respect as other players in the NBA.
Lastly, do we even need to go into the trading away of multiple lottery first round draft picks. Aren’t you supposed to be bringing the team to new heights. The trade with the Portland Trail Blazers acquiring Zach Randolph, Fred Jones, and Dan Dickau for Steve Francis and Channing Frye. They decided to take on the huge contract of veteran Zack Randolph with the tainted image from the jail blazers era. They already have the biggest payroll in the NBA, so shouldn’t it reflect a team that is going to be a playoff contender. I don’t think a team that is second to last in the Eastern Conference is representative of the ridiculous salaries it is paying out.
If I was a homegrown Knicks fan I would seriously be thinking about trading away to a different team that is coming up in the ranks, possibly the Boston Celtics.
