In case any of you read TrueHoop, one of the best NBA blogs on the internet, you would have seen a couple amazing blogs/articles today talking about the myths and legends of players supposedly being able to touch the top of the backboard.
Here is the first one: James White vs. A Jumping Myth
Here is the follow-up: About "Making" Change off the top of the Backboard
Here is video of a guy supposedly getting up high enough...although its tough to see.
I'd say if anyone could do it to my knowledge it would for sure be James White. I can still remember this guy during the McDonald's High School All-American dunk contest and just thinking, "Oh my lord!" It's too bad his actual basketball skills could not live up to his jumping ability, he would really be fun to watch in live games on a regular basis.
And after reading Henry's blogs, make sure you go see the Don Cheadle flick about Earl "GOAT" Manigault, it's one of the great basketball films of all time.
