Roy down with a knee injury! But he’s back!
Wow, the Trail Blazers spectacular season is now up in the air as Brandon Roy has gone down in the first half with what appears to be a nasty knee injury. Roy had sat out most of the previous game with a severely bruised tail bone and was questionable for tonight’s contest with the Golden State
Warriors.
The Blazers built an early lead and looked to be rolling through the Warriors and on their way to win number 22 until Roy went down. They still lead going into the second half, but who cares about this game at this point. Roy fell down on a pass in the lane and came down awkwardly on his right knee stretching it completely back. The knee is supposedly a surgically repaired knee that he had worked on during his junior year at the University of Washington.
Let’s hope it’s a strain and not a big tear. If we hear “tear”, it’ll be good night, and good luck to the Portland Trail Blazers.
**UPDATE** It looks like he’s back in the game! He actually started the second half and just needed to sit out the rest of the first half with some ice on that previously repaired knee. Thank you! Would have been sad to see this team’s run come to an end. I know they have won in the past with Roy on the bench, but you can’t imagine them keeping that pace up for the long run. Luckily the Blazers have a couple of days off after tonight’s game before they head out east on a 7 game road trip.
